Snake With a Smile
This morning, after phoning my Uncle, I discovered something to be wary of; the reptile called the Keelback snake. Definitely a snake not to be harmed as it likes to eat cane toads. It is the only predator that won't be killed by the venom of the cane toad - the great pest introduced to Australia to supposedly eat a beetle, also introduced, to save the sugar industry.
My cousin found the Keelback curled up in a water pipe giving him quite a start, however this snake is harmless. There is another similar snake which is poisonous with only one way to tell them apart. The Keelback has a smile and the venomous snake has an angry look....
Perhaps we could all carry a zoom lens camera at all times to see which snake is before us.

Canine Control
Many owners of dogs have a problem whenever anyone comes to visit. The dog goes off its head, jumping, barking and being most annoying to the owners.
It is usually the owners fault. When we treat our canine friends as a doll instead of a dog, the trouble starts and we have no way of controlling any situation.
Dogs are what we call territorially aggressive. In other wards, they wants to protect their home and stop others from entering what he considers to be his domain. this is quite normal canine behaviour. The problem that we face is being unable to control the dog and stop or minimise these reactions.
It is necessary to acquire a lead and a slipping noose collar or check chain. Start by treating your dog as a farmer treats his dog. This way, you'll earn the dog's respect and it will look up to you - not down. Do basic obedience like sit, drop and stay. Whenever someone comes, it's on with the lead and into the obedience routine. Practice will in time make perfect.

Ants - A Common Garden Pest

Just a few food crumbs on the floor can bring hundred of ants into the home. In the garden you would think of them being more welcome. However that is not always true.
'Ants are rarely a problem in the garden- they can even be useful in eating insect pests and attacking termite mounds. However, they can also be garden villains - especially when they are scuttling up and down a plant stem. Even though they look innocent, those ants are up to mischief. They are protecting colonies of bugs which drill tiny holes into your plants to siphon the life-giving sap, and they are also spreading plant diseases. The bugs, in return for protection from their enemies, give the ants a sugary solution. It's a great system for the ants and bugs, but not for the plants, which often have wilted shoots and are stained with black mildew growing on the excess sugary residue.
The solution to this problem is to put the bugs off-limits to the ants by greasing their pathways. After blasting the bugs off with a hose, or alternatively, scrubbing them off with a nail brush, cover a few centimetres of the plant stem with petroleum jelly, lanolin or anything else that ants are unable to climb. Although this process allows some of the bugs to return, without their ant protectors, they mostly end up as dinner for other insects.
Ants in pot plants are easy to remove. You simply sink the pot into a bucket of water or a pond. After half an hour, your problems have swum away! The herbs tansy and peppermint are also reputed to repel ants.'

Technically Superior Dino Tails

There is great and amazing design in the armour of early living creatures, namely the conch and abalone. 'New research shows that the backs and tails of ankylosaurs were protected by strong, lightweight 'armour' so sophisticated that it's been likened to the structure of a fibreglass surfboard or the Kevlar of bullet-proof vests.
Torsten Scheyer of the University of Bonn, Germany, found two complex arrangements within the 'armour'. In the bone calcium of the plates, interwoven collagen fibres formed mats that crisscross from layer to layer. Within each mat, parallel fibres were angled perpendicular to fibres in the mats above and below.
"The armour was thereby endowed with great strength in all directions," said Scheyer. He also pointed out that as the ankylosaur swung its tail in self-defence, the layering could absorb large amounts of stress. All creatures reflect the ingenious hand of the Designer - Creator God of the Bible'.

Designer Label Clothing- in Nature

'..When researchers report their studies of animals, plants, Earth and starry skies, they implicitly give the glory to 'evolution'.
A recent genetic study of the 'morning glory' plant, for example, speaks of the 'evolutionary transition' from purple/blue flowers (Ipomoea purpurea) to red flowers (Ipomoea quamoclit).
A closer look though, shows it is not evolution at all. Evolution... requires an uphill change, an increase in genetic information. But the researchers describe how their claimed 'evolutionary transition' from blue to red flowers in morning glory is actually a downhill change; a decrease in information.
The ancestral (normal) blue/purple floral colour is due to pigments derived from a chemical called cyanidin. Researchers discovered that mutations in Ipomoea quamoclit block production of cyanidin. Therefore a different chemical called pelargonidin builds up, resulting in red pigments and flowers. The researchers readily acknowledge this has been a downhill change, using such phrases as 'pathway degeneration' and 'loss of the ability [to perform certain chemical processes]'.
Thus the researchers concluded, starkly: 'This degeneration makes it very unlikely that I. quamoclit would be able to re-evolve cyanidin-based blue/purple pigments ...'. Why? Because, the researchers say, it would require multiple simultaneous mutations. These mutations would have to add information, i.e. it would require an uphill change.
But this is the opposite direction to observed mutations today. ...... The Bible tells us that from studying plants it ought to be obvious that they must have had a Designer (Romans 1:20). How could you ever get something that grows from a seed, extracts its own construction and maintenance materials from its surroundings, all fuelled by solar energy, arising by chance?'
